Here are some commonly asked questions about booking a session with sallydexter.

What to wear?

When planning your session clothing, remember that often, simple is best! Check, pattern designs and lettering on shirts will look busy and distracting in photographs. Solid white or light colored shirts can easily look washed out in portraits, and therefore it’s usually better to avoid plain white shirts. Darker colours make for a more flattering portrait, though white shirts can most certainly be layered underneath darker clothing. Aim to have clothing coordinated and colours complimentary, rather than matching. sallydexter is happy to discuss and assist with suggestions at your pre-session consultation.

What happens if I cancel my session with less than 24 hours notice?

If you are cancelling with less than 24 hours notice of your session date and time, your booking fee is not refunded. You will be offered the opportunity to reschedule your session however, at another mutually agreed time, and your booking fee will be credited towards that session fee.

What if the weather is bad?

If the weather is inappropriate for your on location/outdoors session, we will reschedule the session.

When will the photographs be available for viewing and where can I view them?

Your photographs will be available for viewing no more than 21 days after the session. They will be available for viewing by two ways, firstly via a private online gallery (the password will be provided to you) and via a proof disk which will be mailed out to you.

How long will my private online gallery be available?

Your gallery will be available online for 90 days to allow you to choose which photographs you would like to purchase. After this time, your private online gallery will be archived off-site.

How do I order and pay for prints?

After viewing your photographs in the private online gallery and/or via the proof disk, you can place your order via the Order Form supplied. On receipt of your order, you will be contacted to discuss any queries or comments you may have. You will also be sent an invoice for the total and to confirm exactly when you will receive your prints. You can then pay by cash, cheque, money order, direct deposit, or via PayPal (PayPal includes payments by credit card and you do not require a PayPal account to use this service).

Can I scan and print my images? Or copy them from my online gallery for printing?

sallydexter contractually maintains copyright on all photographic images. It is unlawful to copy, scan or print any photographs created by sallydexter without express written permission. If you have specific needs or requirements for delivery of non-print formats for your images, please discuss with sallydexter at your pre-session consultation.

Will my photographs be on public display on your web site?

sallydexter reserves the right to display photographic images taken by herself at client sessions for use of self-promotion on this web site, or for photographic industry competition submissions. On occasion, sallydexter does work with at-risk clients or clients with confidentiality/anonymity concerns. If you are in this situation, please do not hesitate to inform sallydexter so that prior arrangements can be made.
